Halloween the neighbors still talk about

Four years ago, we had a Halloween party that folks still talk about. It was not such a big thing, but it was fun. We decorated our raised flowerbed in front of our yard as a cemetery. with store-bought tombstones. and had some skeletons trying to come up from the ground. There was a life sized skeleton in a cage shouting and shaking to be freed. The Wicked Witch of The East was "crushed" by the corner of our house , striped socks, curled up toes and all.

All along the path which the trick-or-treaters had to pass, there was a fog machine, a howling ghost, and several sound machines.

They had to pass this incredibly evil looking character named Evil Owen who is the size of a toddler but dressed as an undertaker with a bloody knife....sitting inside a stroller!

Then they had to pass a big hell hound gargoyle that was "protecting " the house. Some of the younger kids were too terrified to go up the walk. We walked over to give the little ones their candy. The bigger kids got the most thrills.

That was during daytime hours...at night it all lit up. Parents came back later, with the kids to take photos of our lovely abode.

Ghouls Rush Inn

Inside, we had the usual party stuff. Because it is also my boyfriend's birthday...we had a cake...a tiered wedding cake with two ghouls on top and all kinds of skeletons scrambling to reach the top. Our menu was to die for. We actually had "Finger Food". long taquitos with almonds for fingernails.

So we posted a large card with the menu of the Ghouls Rush Inn. We prepared everything that was listed on that menu and boy was that ever fun! The picture is posted with this hub.
