Quiet Voice (poem)

During prayers, I know,
That when my heart is right
I can be tuned in to God's voice
Early in the morning and late at night.
Even if right now
It seems we can't see,
All things hoped for,
We only have to believe.
As I sit here
In silent prayer,
I am reminded
Of God's loving care.
He's always there
As voices reach the skies,
He's also there to hear
our muted sighs.
He knows our hearts
Even before we do
And He tells us
"My Child, I'm here for you."
What can we do for a Father
who answers unspoken prayer?
We only need to speak daily
Saying "Hi, Dad, Glad you're there!"

Think of this like an umbrella...I step away from under it...I will get wet.
So yes, I will give God credit when good things happen. And I know when dumb stuff happens to me, generally it's because I did not listen to that small still voice. (I stepped away from the umbrella.)
God does answer prayers in his time, not ours.
