Song Lyrics to move you

Songs have a way of evoking emotions. Whether you are ready for them or not. Sometimes a happy song is played on the radio and suddenly, you just jump right up and dance. If you are in the car...well you thump on the steering wheel. Sometimes you are already in a mood ( good , bad, indifferent) and you purposely play a song to enhance the mood. Boy, I get my best housework done with my good mood music blasting!

Some songs will grab you quite unexpectedly. About 15 yrs ago, I was just mending a broken heart. While busy working in the dept. store the background music played and normally, it can be ignored.( normally). Suddenly, a song just drifted on while I was working quietly on a display...I burst into tears! I was so seriously and visibly upset, I tried to keep working but it showed all over my face and well, everything! I even had customers come over to comfort me. ( how sad)

My mother died in1965 ( I was 10) and that year, The Supremes had a hit " I got Him Back In My Arms Again". Unfortunately, that song became a hit to the point that anytime it would play...I suffered. This went on for many years. There are some songs that you just have to turn the radio off, just not to feel pain. I have since learned to like the song, but it was a rough start.

On a happier note, my mother had a favorite song by The Platters "Smoke Gets In your Eyes". Of course,anytime I would hear it, I thought about her. I like that song and the warm thoughts it brings to me. But that was because she liked it and was happy to hear it.
